About smaller Chihuahuas
"Chi Chi's" will be from 2 to 4 lbs. Due to small size, they are kept here for about 12-16 weeks to make sure they are ready for the excitement of a new home. They must be eating well before they travel.
It's surprising, but tiny dogs -- more often than not -- have strong, entertaining, and outgoing personalities. Their ability to run, leap and play may astonish you. They can do most of what the "big guys" can do, and often more. It is not uncommon to see a Tiny "rule the roost" within its litter of bigger pups. Seriously.
One theory is that they had to work so hard to survive, they developed "larger than life" capabilities. I believe this.
Chi Chi's are very affectionate, and suffer if left alone for too long. Be sure you want a tiny dog to love, not just to show off because they are cool.
People think they have more health problems, but, except in the very tiniest ones (under 2 lbs) most 2, 3, and 4 lb dogs do as well as the "big" guys.
However, people can harm them by accident. It's easy to step on, or drop them. When not being watched, they need their own small crate or hutch, to rest and feel safe.
Please do not buy tiny Chi Chi's for very young children!
